    A little bit of T.O

One of my favourite urban parts of Toronto is Queen street.  When the weather is nice, it's a great part of the city to do a little walk about and go for a coffee.  I love going there to do one of my favourite past times - not shopping but people watching

One cold day, a friend and I decided to go out there and take some photos and I realized there's just some great art work there as well - Graffiti art, store signs, what have you, all great eye candy for amateur photographers.  Check it out:

This pic is for my friend A.H. - It shows you the classic Toronto pic of the C.N. Tower and the TTC Street car.

My lunch - wanted to take advantage of the lighting and show the yumminess that was in front of me. Breakfast is my favourite meal.  :)

    Some Graffiti Art pics:

I bet you're wondering what this is.  Its a picture of a dead tree covered with flyers, old and new with a picture of a full bloomed tree behind it. (Taken on Queen and Peter, I think)

Taken Near Queen St. West and Bathurst

    Funny Batman graffiti

    Funny Faces

Some pics of interesting store windows and signs:

    "Sexy Bastard" boxers

    "Judge Me" Door Number

"Jeasus Saves and So can you!" Advertisement - shame, shame

Pic of my friend and "Obedience is Key" poster

I wish the city of Toronto will consider taking on the Queen street (more specifically, Queen Street West) as a project and make that area a cultural centre for new artists, as well as be a tourist attraction.  Instead of replacing the buildings that were burnt down a couple of years ago by condo buildings, they should make that area into a scquare, like in Europe where it's surrounded by cafes and there would be enough space for artists, sellers and entertainment artists to set up their business there and attract foreigners as well as locals.  To maybe create a Toronto's own 'Camden Market'.

"No Pants! Subway ride" in Toronto

A friend of mine sent me this funny link of "No Pants! Subway ride" in NYC that occurred annually on January 10th.  This has been going on for 8 years (I believe).  Well they finally moved to Toronto and the first "No Pants! Subway ride" occurred this past Saturday.  Check it out:

I think it's refreshing.  It definitely brings something new to the hum-drum daily activities that we go through every day and January is the perfect month to do it.  I think January and February are the worst winter months of the year and it's probably the prime time when people suffer what you call 'the winter blues'.  All you see is gray skies and dirty snow everywhere when you walk around and grumpy expressions.  But what a way to turn those grumpy expressions into shocked to amused looks when you come upon rainbow skivvies , elephant boxers or just your regular briefs.

    Case in Point:

P.S. I highly recommend watching Gran Torino.  If you get past all the racial slurs, which stomps on all your politically correctness sensibilities, you will truly enjoy Clint Eastwood's performance in this movie.  Two thumbs up!

    Almost the end of 2008

I can't get over that in a week it'll be Christmas!
Time just flies.  - I know I always say that.  I think that's the hard part about getting older is seeing all the changes.

Looking back on 2008, I wouldn't say it was the best year of my life.  I'm afraid year 2007 claims that title but it definitely was significant.   It was still significant because of the new people that came into my life.
I've decided to focus on my blog and eventually graduate from using Xanga and come up with a website on my own.  One of my challenges for 2009 is learning how to web design without using Dreamweaver. :p
